The Poggio alle Fate vineyard extends over 3.2 hectares at an altitude of 680 meters above sea level, in the heart of the Radda in Chianti hills. The soil, rich in marl and red clay schist, is highly mineral, thanks to the presence of iron and manganese, contributing to the uniqueness of the wine produced.
The manual harvest ensures the selection of the finest grapes, which are then stored in cold storage at 6°C for 48 hours. This is followed by gentle destemming and soft pressing. The free-run must ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and, halfway through alcoholic fermentation, is transferred to 500-liter French oak tonneaux. Here, alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation are completed, and the wine ages on the lees for approximately one year, with weekly batonnage to enhance its complexity and structure.
After aging in wood, the wine rests in the bottle for 8 to 12 months, reaching its peak expression. Poggio alle Fate embodies the harmony between tradition and innovation, offering an unforgettable tasting experience. Perfect for those seeking elegant wines with great personality.
