A fifty-year-old Speyside Scotch whisky The Benriach Distillery: Speyside Tradition and Innovation
Founded in 1898 by John Duff in Elgin, Benriach boasts a rich history, marked by multiple closures before its rebirth in 2004 under the leadership of Billy Walker. Since 2016, the distillery has been owned by the American Brown-Forman group. Benriach stands out for its innovative approach: it produces three distinct styles (unpeated, peated, and triple-distilled), maintains its own malting floor—a rare privilege in Scotland—and experiments with a variety of cask finishes. Under the guidance of Rachel Barrie, Master Blender since 2017, Benriach combines Speyside traditions with creative boldness, reinventing regional codes while preserving authenticity.
Benriach The Fifty 1966: A Historic Single Cask
Benriach The Fifty marks a historic first for this Speyside distillery: it is its first whisky bottled at fifty years of age. Distilled on September 21, 1966, this single malt has matured for half a century in a single ex-bourbon cask, number 2383, personally selected by Rachel Barrie, the distillery's Master Blender, for its exceptional character.
Exceptional Packaging
Production is limited to just 37 bottles worldwide, including three for France. Each bottle is presented in a custom-made crystal decanter crafted in Scotland by Glasstorm. The case was designed by master craftsman John Galvin, inspired by Benriach's collection of colored casks. The packaging for this unpeated single malt, bottled at 44.5% ABV, reflects the unique and precious character of this exceptional spirit.
