PRODUCT INFORMATION

Soil type: Composed primarily of marl and sandstone belonging to an Eocene-era flysch formation; weathering of this rocky substrate creates the local soil known as "ponca."
Grape varieties: Traditional white grapes from the Friuli Venezia Giulia region.
Municipality of production: Dolegna del Collio.
Exposure: East-Southeast / West-Southwest. Appellation: IGT.
Alcohol content: 13.5%. Acidity: 4.60‰.
Training system: Guyot. Harvest time: September.
First vintage produced: 1991.
Estimated aging potential: 8–10 years.
Capo Martino: Named after the hill purchased in 1991 in the heart of the Gorizia hills—a site previously used as a wartime observation post. It is a 7.5-hectare plot that was replanted between 1996 and 2003 using the same grape varieties.
Aging/Vinification: "It stems from the idea of ??creating a blend of different varieties vinified in the traditional style—just as my father Angelo did—featuring brief skin contact, fermentation and aging in oak barrels for about 10 months, and release to the market two years after the harvest."
Tasting notes: Capo Martino is a blend of white grapes from the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. "It displays a beautiful, luminous, and sparkling golden-yellow color. The nose is intense and complex, offering notes of ripe local and tropical fruits and dried flowers, all touched by a delicate hint of vanilla. Aromas of apple, banana, hazelnut, broom, and passionflower emerge. On the palate, it is velvety. It boasts perfect flavor balance, delicate aromatics, and an infinite finish. Excellent paired with chickpea purée and sautéed rosemary octopus."
