The 2022 vintage of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano was as challenging as its season: late frosts, a wet spring, a summer with extreme heat and hail, and a rainy finale. But tenacity and experience, combined with the magic of nature, have given us wines that are nonetheless deep and rounded, yet lean toward the more subtle side of wine.
Tasting Notes Dried and dusty flowers, crushed rocks, lavender, and red currant are found in the 2022 Nobile di Montepulciano as it opens in the glass. The palate is filled with silky, textured waves, contrasting with the tartness of berries and a savory sensation provided by the pronounced minerality toward the finish. The result is both savory and sweet, rich with acidic tension, with the 2022 finishing with a slightly bitter cherry stone note.
