The 2022 climate season began with a harsh and dry winter. Subsequently, the vine cycle was accompanied by a spring with little rain and a rapid rise in daytime temperatures starting in May. These conditions favored excellent flowering between the end of May and the beginning of June for both varieties. During the summer the climate remained hot and dry, the plants in these conditions were able to self-regulate as best as possible, arriving in excellent vegetative conditions at the veraison phase which took place at the beginning of August. On July 28 and August 15, two very important rains of 30 mm each were recorded, which brought relief to the plants and started the ripening phase of the grapes. The harvest began on August 28, with small bunches in excellent health. The harvest was slightly anticipated, to preserve the freshness of the grapes as much as possible and conserve the aromatic potential. September was perfect, temperatures dropped from the middle of the month, allowing for nice temperature variations between day and night, excellent at the completion of the ripening of the Sangiovese. TASTING NOTES Luce 2022 has a bright ruby ??red color. The nose expresses fresh sensations of red fruits, such as currant and pomegranate surrounded by delicate floral aromas. On the palate, the entrance is enveloping, continues in a fresh and vibrant sip that, accompanied by sweet tannins, introduces a savory finish of great length.
