This wine is produced with Sangiovese grapes highlighting the balanced and harmonious traits of its habitat. The wine shows a medium body, sweet and noble tannins and a distinct tasting profile. Excellent to drink immediately, it reveals an impressive aging potential. The heavy rains after flowering created some difficulties that our team was nevertheless able to manage excellently. Thanks to the excellent water retention capacity of our clay-rich soils, the bunches easily overcame the summer heat and preserved their acidity. TASTING NOTES In the glass it has garnet red reflections. On the nose aromas of small red fruits, pomegranate and the unmistakable scent of violet of good Sangiovese. In the background a touch of vanilla and tomato leaf. On the palate it is well balanced, with sweet notes of ripe cherry and plum jam, supported by a precise and elegant tannin. The body is dynamic and enveloping and the pleasant drinkability is accompanied by a good persistence. The sediments that you may find in this wine show that it is made of pure Sangiovese with minimal intervention. The sediment is due to its high content of a natural antioxidant called quercetin, which is perfectly safe. This is not a defect, it is a characteristic of pure Sangiovese. Pied de cuve is the first batch of grapes that is harvested early to select the yeasts naturally present on the skins. These will become the basic yeast for the fermentation of the grapes, which will be harvested later. This process allows us to enhance the bond between the wine and its vineyard, thus sealing its sense of place. AGING At least 18 months in Slavonian oak barrels, barriques and oak tonneaux
