Sciandor Moscato d’Asti DOCG 2024 VARIETY Moscato Bianco DESCRIPTION A wine with a smooth and lively character that reinterprets the Piedmontese Moscato tradition, expressing all its typical sweetness and aroma. After two particularly low rainfall years, the survival of the vineyards in the 2024 vintage was at risk at the beginning of the year. The climate radically changed at the end of February, with the first rainfall accompanied by ambient temperatures that remained above the winter average. The high amount of rainfall (about 800 mm of rainfall in the first seven months) led to a high level of aggressiveness from fungal pathogens, especially downy mildew and, in some cases, powdery mildew. The production results were strongly influenced by the pathogen pressure and the ability of the wineries to manage the vegetation and crop protection. Despite the weather being a terrible year, thanks to the winemakers' experience and timely vineyard treatments, good-quality, very fine and elegant wines were obtained. Straw yellow color with light golden reflections. Aromatic bouquet, typical of Moscato, with hints of acacia flowers, white peach, and sage. Sweet, fresh flavor, well-structured; with hints of honey and a finish of candied citrus. A dessert wine that pairs beautifully with traditional amaretti biscuits from the lower Piedmont area and small pastries.
