In the ancient lands of Castello di Albola, once home to noble Tuscan families,
from the Pazzi to the Acciaiuoli to the Ginori Conti, vines have thrived for centuries, producing perfect fruit in these landscapes
devoted to the purest beauty. The high altitude, the diverse
and particularly suitable soils, and the fortunate exposure form an ideal ensemble that shines
with its own light in the luminous scenery of Chianti Classico: among vineyards that climb
the hillsides, historic buildings, and artistic treasures. A dazzling jewel that
requires daily dedication and constant care, and rewards those who love it with wines
out of the ordinary. Authentic wines with a seductive personality that demand devotion and thoughtfulness,
in the constant challenge of equaling the value of Castello di Albola and doing justice to
its wonder.

Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Santa Caterina takes its name from a single vineyard
of just over five hectares, completely south-facing at an average altitude of 550
meters. This parcel is favored for its soil composition, rich in marl, and for the
quality of the Sangiovese grapes grown there. Vinified as a single varietal, aged for a long time
with a measured use of wood, they translate into a luminous wine, with a
pervasive aroma and a punchy, interminable palate, an authentic expression of the spirit of Castello
di Albola.
2019 CLIMATE
Spring rains allowed for the creation of significant water reserves, very useful for
facing the moderately hot summer with limited rainfall. The generally colder and
humid climate in the first half of the year slightly delayed the vine's growing cycle. September
was normal, without heat spikes or heavy rainfall. Breezy and sunny, with excellent
temperature ranges that ensured the perfect ripening of the grapes, rich in aromas and
good acidity.
