After purchasing the Maison Delamotte, the fifth oldest winery in Mesnil-sur-Oger, a Grand Cru municipality of the Côte des Blancs, the Maison Laurent-Perrier, in 1988 finalized the purchase of the nearby Salon winery, renowned for the excellent quality of its Champagne. Today, both the Delamotte and Salon wineries are masterfully managed by the oenologist Didier Depond who, as far as the Salon company is concerned, seeks to enhance a history that began way back in 1905
