PRODUCT INFORMATION

Brunello di Montalcino 'La Casa' is a historic and prestigious label, representing the pinnacle of Caparzo's production, distinguished by its complexity and elegance. This bottle is tied to the history of the estate as well as that of the Montalcino district, having been one of the first single-vineyard wines bottled in the area, starting with the 1977 harvest. At that time, it was common practice for Montalcino wineries to produce Brunello by blending grapes from their own plots. With the development of the concept of zoning, more and more wineries began bottling Brunello from individual parcels, thus showcasing the expression of the most suitable vineyards. The name 'La Casa' derives from the fact that the estate was once home to farmers employed by the owners of Palazzo Montosoli.

'La Casa' Caparzo Brunello di Montalcino is a 100% Sangiovese Grosso, harvested from a 5-hectare plot on the prestigious Montosoli hill. The soil is galestro, a type of clay-schist soil, and the altitude is 275 meters above sea level, with south to southeast exposure. Manual harvesting is followed by 7 days of alcoholic fermentation on the skins, followed by an additional 10-15 days of post-fermentation maceration. Once malolactic fermentation has taken place, the wine is aged for at least 24 months in oak barrels of various sizes before bottling and further aging in bottle.

A deep garnet red, the Brunello di Montalcino Caparzo 'La Casa' offers complex aromas of cherry, orange peel, tobacco, cinnamon, vanilla, and berries such as raspberry, currant, and blueberry. The palate is warm, broad, and intense, with excellent balance, almost austere tannins, and a long finish.
