Castello Banfi Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2014 Sangiovese A classic Banfi wine from Montalcino. A rainy and cold year, during which the meticulous selection of grapes in the vineyard was crucial, along with the defoliation process, which allowed the grapes good ventilation. Furthermore, harvesting in the same vineyard was often done in two separate passes. The attention paid in the vineyard continued in the cellar, where our selection systems allowed us to process only the best grapes. A very short post-fermentation maceration also prevented the extraction of unripe tannins. The result is an elegant and balanced Brunello, characterized by a sweet, rich, and complex aroma of fruit jam. A wine with great structure that is well balanced by good softness and acidity on the finish. Extremely persistent and with excellent aging potential. It pairs particularly well with rich, flavorful dishes such as grilled red meat, stewed game, and aged cheeses. Soil: Mainly loamy with reddish clay and pebbles. Training system: Spurred cordon - Banfi bush vine Plant density: 2,400 - 5,500 plants/ha. Yield per hectare: 65 quintals/ha.
