Barolo "Otin Fiorin - Pié Franco" 2019 Cappellano
Barolo Pié Franco by Cappellano is one of the most important Piedmontese wines, a bottle sought after by enthusiasts from all over the world. It is a traditional Barolo, obtained with artisanal methods without the use of chemicals. The grapes come from the Gabutti cru, in Serralunga d'Alba, from vines over 30 years old grown pié franco, that is, without grafting on American rootstock, as was done in the pre-phylloxera era. The Cappellano winery carries on the ancient tradition of Langa, giving us an authentic, elegant and perfect wine, a unique and rare bottle, produced in a very limited edition.
The vines from which Pié Franco Cappellano is born are grown according to the dictates of organic farming, neither herbicides nor chemicals are used, in full respect of nature and the magnificent territory of the Piedmontese Langhe. In the cellar, alcoholic fermentation occurs spontaneously in contact with the skins with indigenous yeasts, followed by aging for 18 months in large barrels.
Barolo Pié Franco presents itself in the glass with a splendid and elegant ruby ??red color with the typical garnet reflections of Barolo, the nose perceives an intense and truly complex aromatic profile, every time the nose approaches the glass the notes are different, from elegant hints of cherry and plum we move on to elegant floral notes and then find ourselves immersed in tertiary hints of licorice, chocolate, black pepper, leather and tobacco. In the mouth you immediately feel that you are in the presence of a great Barolo, the sip is full and full-bodied, the tannic texture is present but does not disturb, accompanied by a surprising freshness even after so many years.
An immense wine that like few others carries within itself the perfect representation of the Langhe and the tradition of the Cappellano family.
