VILLA DELLA TORRE: Villa Della Torre, a splendid monument of the Italian Renaissance, is now owned by the Mastella Allegrini family and is the headquarters of the Marilisa Allegrini Group. The design by Giulio Romano and Michele Sanmicheli
was inspired by the Domus of Ancient Rome with all its pomp and splendor. Hence the Peristyle, the true heart
of the house, along with the 16th-century motifs of Water, symbolized by the Fish Pond, and Fire, immortalized in the fireplaces
of the great decorator Giovan Battista Scultori. The octagonal Tempietto described by Vasari and the Bucintoro
dedicated to Jupiter Ammon complete the extraordinary scenic effect of the entire monumental complex and confirm
its historical and artistic importance. Today it houses a Wine & Art Relais and is home to the Villa Della Torre winery.
THE VILLA'S GARDEN: Villa Della Torre is surrounded by what Marilisa Allegrini likes to call a "vine garden."
The Villa Della Torre garden, with ancient walls marking its boundaries, protects a ten-hectare vineyard where
Corvinone is the predominant variety. The two wines produced here—Valpolicella Classico Superiore and Amarone della
Valpolicella Classico—represent a conscious evolution of classic styles. They emphasize freshness, express precision,
and highlight the unique characteristics of this vineyard.
TASTING NOTES: The Valpolicella Classico Superiore from Villa Della Torre displays a medium-deep ruby ??red color.
The bouquet expresses aromas of raspberry, small berries, and hints of vanilla and spice. On the palate, it
has a good structure with fine, well-integrated tannins and a fresh, persistent finish. Harmonious and balanced,
it has a pleasantly soft and fresh palate, making it very versatile when paired with food. Pleasant
when young, it will become even more pleasant with ageing in the bottle.
INTERESTING FACT: The design on the label depicts the Villa Della Torre site, gently sloping and divided into tiers. A play of perspectives
along a sequence that leads from the first courtyard to the heart of the villa, a porticoed courtyard that echoes the Peristilium
of the Latin domus, and from there, through the Peschiera, leads to the garden and the lower nymphaeum.
SERVING TEMPERATURE: Best served at 18°C ??in large red wine glasses.
SIZE: 750 ml
