Castello della Sala Castello della Sala Castello della Sala is located in Umbria, not far from the border with Tuscany, about 18 kilometers from the historic city of Orvieto.
The lands of the Castello, an imposing medieval manor, extend over 600 hectares, 229 of which are planted with vineyards, at an altitude of 220-470 meters above sea level, amid the rolling hills that characterize the beautiful countryside of these areas.
The soil is predominantly clayey and calcareous, rich in fossil shells, with vineyards well exposed to the rising sun and excellent temperature ranges: Castello della Sala is a highly suited area for the production of white wines.
One exception: Pinot Noir, which finds ideal conditions in this terroir to express its full potential.
