Nibbio is a truly exceptional Chardonnay, hand-picked from a vineyard of just over one hectare on Monte Nibbio in Umbria, located 520 meters above sea level and belonging to the Castello della Sala estate. The site enjoys a cool northeast exposure and dense woods at lower elevations that insulate the temperature. It is the second vintage of the latest passion project of Piero Antinori and his renowned winemaker Renzo Cotarella. Nibbio combines Antinori's winemaking tradition with the unique characteristics of the terroir and seamlessly continues the path begun 35 years ago with Cervaro della Sala.

Nibbio della Sala is characterized by a finely defined, very Burgundian style and the mineral characteristics of the vineyard site. Its lively and elegant bouquet features flint, white apricots, green pears, hazelnuts, lemons, green tea, and a hint of toast. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet elegant and refined, with bright acidity, clear phenols, and a silky, structured, and lively DNA, with great length. Nibbio is perhaps Italy's most perfect and captivating Chardonnay and already promises wonderful further aging. SUPERIORE.DE

"Intense, crisp straw yellow color with evident green highlights. Complex and inviting on the nose, it opens with notes of flint and iodine, followed by plenty of grapefruit, some fresh pineapple, and white peach. Extremely smooth on the attack and on the palate, a good interplay between fresh, Mediterranean notes of orange peel, pineapple, and white peach, with a present but well-integrated acidity that gives the wine juiciness and tension.
