Desiderio was a bull that lived on the then Le Capezzine di Avignonesi farm. Over a hundred years ago, he was the largest known bull in Tuscany, so majestic that Desiderio is said to have helped define the Chianina cattle breed, specific to the Bistecca Fiorentina. It was a natural choice to dedicate this Merlot to the beloved bull as a testament to the wines' origins. This is Tuscan Merlot at its finest.
The iconic white bull is now an illustration of the vintage. The label is much more than meets the eye. Compare them and you'll notice some clues about the climate. Look at the sky and you'll understand whether it was cold, warm, or balanced, and you'll be able to decipher many other clues. 2021 Explosive aromatic impact. The broad aromatic bouquet ranges from cherry jam to mulberry, with notes of wisteria blossom, black tea, and licorice. The entry is dark and structured, enveloping the palate with depth and warmth. The palate is juicy, perfectly balanced with the aromatic impressions, enriched by spicy nuances on the finish. The dense, vibrant tannins and deep, persistent finish suggest long bottle aging potential. Delicious today, exceptional tomorrow.
