Climate trend

The balance is very positive especially due to the excellent quality level of the grapes harvested. Spring 2009, as in previous years, was marked by insistent rains which put the winemakers to the test in their vegetation management and health protection work, but at the same time well replenished the aquifers. The months of June and July 2009 were instead resistant to moderate rainfall which made up for the spring vegetative delay and caused an advance in ripening. The vines thus worked at their best and the grapes ripened slightly earlier than last year. Furthermore, the cool nights and hot, sunny days that followed one another in the month of September meant that the grapes reached full ripeness and produced high quality wines. The favorable seasonal trend offered the best conditions for bringing ripe fruit to the cellar, with the right acidity and good aromatic complexity.
