2004 Like a hand-painted calendar, the 2004 harvest offered Trinoro the skies and temperatures of a perfect year; while the vines remained indifferent. They sprouted late, with a consequently delayed flowering and irregular ripening. The main reason for this irregularity is due to the summer heat of the previous year, debilitating especially for the younger vineyards. By delaying the harvest, passing and repassing the various plots, we noticed a half a hectare of vineyard planted with Merlot of exceptional quality, with small berries, in sparse bunches. As the harvest progressed, we reserved that plot for last, then harvesting it in the first days of November. With other very small plots, harvested equally late, we produced an extremely concentrated and elegant Tenuta di Trinoro. Production: 7000 bottles 83% Merlot October, 20; November, 3-4 9% Cabernet Franc November, 6 4% Petit Verdot November, 7 4% Cabernet Sauvignon November, 8
