PRODUCT INFORMATION
TRINORO ESTATE 2000
For Tenuta di Trinoro wine, 1998 is one of the great vintages. The heat was concentrated on the vineyards only during the growth period, while in August, September and October the averages dropped violently, remaining lower than 2014, an exceptionally cold year.
The rains fell at times throughout an essentially clear season; the water has always been light and intermittent until November. Thus we unhurriedly picked exceptional merlots and profoundly complete and richly diversified cabernet francs from the various beautiful vineyards; at the end of October, the last grapes also entered the cellar (cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot) whose blend with the predominant cabernet franc is the happiest possible to put together this year's wines.
Age of the vineyard: 23-25 years
Planting density: 10,000 plants per hectare
Altitude: 450-600 m asl
Yield per hectare: 25 Hl/Ha
Fertilization: Sheep manure
Treatments: Clay, propolis, grapefruit seed extract
Vinification: Alcoholic fermentation for 12 days in steel tanks
Aging: 8 months in new French oak barriques; 11 months in concrete tanks
Bottling: Waning moon of June 2017
Production: 8,400 bottles
