The Rum Guyana ‘Remember’ from the well-known Ligurian company Moon Import stands out for its dry and almost salty taste, as well as for its pleasantly toasted aromatic profile. The sugar cane plants intended for this bottle are grown in Guyana, a South American state bordering Venezuela, Brazil and Suriname. The culture of this country is strongly connected to that of the Caribbean and, in fact, rum is also one of the most important food productions for Guyana. Usually, the rums produced here are particularly rich and fruity, with a very full body.
The production process of Moon Import Rum Guyana ‘Remember’ uses sugar cane grown in Guyana which, once ripe, is squeezed. The juice is then left to ferment with yeasts for a few days and then distilled in continuous Patent Still stills. Once the distillation phase is complete, the liquid is transferred to Scotland where it ages for a long period in oak barrels previously used to refine sherry, whisky or brandy. The choice to refine the rum in Scotland is due to the particular climatic conditions of the country, which create an ideal environment for the optimal sensorial evolution of the rum, as well as to the long and consolidated tradition of the Scottish people, the most expert in the art of maturing distillates. At the end of the aging process, the rum is finally bottled and marketed under the Moon Import brand.
‘Remember’ Rum Guyana by Moon Import has an intense amber hue. Notes of caramel and roasted chestnut emerge on the nose, accompanied by fresh floral aromas. Full and warm on the palate, with evident sensations of licorice root and smoky notes of carob that prelude the pleasant marine vein in the finish.
