YEAR NOTES: The 2023 vintage was marked by significant climatic challenges, but also by a surprising final
balance. Winter and spring were rainy, culminating in a particularly rainy June, which
made vineyard management complex, especially due to downy mildew. However, in San Polo, thanks to timely
agronomic practices and a favorable location, production remained regular. The summer saw brief heatwaves,
concentrated mainly in July, followed by a gradual return to stability. Starting in mid-August, with veraison,
ripening proceeded slowly, favored by dry, breezy days and a good temperature range. The
Sangiovese grapes, in particular, benefited from these conditions, reaching full ripeness by the end of
September. The harvest took place under ideal conditions, with mild temperatures and limited rainfall. The wines from this
vintage reflect a surprising harmony, expressing finesse, depth, and a distinct territorial identity.
TASTING NOTES: A complex ruby ??red color, clear and brilliant. On the nose, aromas of fresh berries and
a hint of morello cherry, along with hints of blackberry and black cherry, followed by a pleasant hint of vanilla. Good intensity and fragrance.
On the palate, it is warm, soft, medium-structured, and has balanced tannins. On the palate, the wine is harmoniously
dry, with strength and freshness, and good aromatic persistence.
SERVING NOTES: Serve in large balloon glasses at 16°C and uncork one hour before serving.
