Pomino Late Harvest 2023 Pomino Bianco DOC Amber in color with subtle orange hues, its full-bodied, velvety, and creamy flavor pairs perfectly with blue cheeses, but can also be sipped on its own as a meditation wine. Weather Report The 2023 vintage began mildly, with a few rare cold days and sporadic snowfall. The awakening of spring led to a uniform bud break in the vineyards. The season continued with temperatures below the seasonal average; in May, temperatures were cool with frequent, above-average rainfall. The summer period—particularly August and September—was hot, with a more or less total absence of rain. The above-described situation led to a slightly delayed sales, with grapes that showed the development of a complex and elegant aromatic profile. The 2023 vintage wines are clear, refined, and possess the typical notes of freshness that characterize the Pomino terroir.
Technical Notes Variety: 70% Chardonnay, 10% Gewürztraminer Aromatico, 10% Pinot Bianco, 10% Pinot Grigio Alcohol Content: 12% Aging: 8 months Tasting Notes This wine has an intense golden yellow color with amber highlights. The bouquet is characterized by floral notes of broom and hawthorn, citrus, and dried fruit. Elegant and enveloping on the palate with a crisp acidity. The aftertaste is splendid, of almond and hazelnut with a hint of licorice. Pairing Suggestions: Blue cheeses such as Gorgonzola, otherwise as a sole meditation wine, or, for those who like to experiment, foie gras.
