MEURSAULT-PORUSOTS 1er CRU Controlled Designation of Origin GRAPE VARIETY 100% Chardonnay SENSORY CHARACTERISTICS In 1600, the lawyer and royal notary of Beaune Jehan Humblot generously donated a vast estate to the Hospices de Beaune. Since 2005, the Cuvée de Meursault has been created exclusively with Premier Cru "Les Porusots". The vines, dating back to before 1974 with some dating back to 1936 and 1953, work a parcel of 0.79 hectares. The Cuvée Jehan Humblot 2017 was expertly vinified by Ludivine Griveau, winemaker at the Hospices de Beaune. The grapes were hand-picked at the peak of ripeness and immediately pressed in the cellar, before being fermented with natural yeasts in barrels. After 17 months of aging in the production barrels and the transfer to the Delaunay cellars in December, the wine was ready. Characterized by a light golden yellow hue, this wine offers floral notes of white flowers and acacia on the nose followed by hints of pastry, nougatine and vanilla. On the palate, it reveals itself as intense and concentrated while maintaining excellent freshness. Notes of pastry, rum and raisins mix with a light touch of new oak. An exceptional balance that offers fullness and volume, maintaining freshness and tension typical of quality white wines from the Côte de Beaune.
