Elvio Cogno Nebbiolo Montegrilli is a red wine produced by Elvio Cogno with the nebbiolo variety in the DOC Langhe Nebbiolo, in Piedmont (Italy).
Named after its creator, Elvio Cogno is a winery located on the hills of Bricco Ravera, in Novello, in the heart of the Langhe. A historic estate from the 18th century that includes 11 hectares of vineyards located on a peak called Bricco Ravera, from which great wines are born, docile, elegant and of world prestige.
Elvio Cogno Nebbiolo Montegrilli comes from a small vineyard of less than one hectare at an altitude of 380 meters above sea level. They are vines planted on limestone and clay soils and cultivated in a sustainable way. When the grapes are ripe they are harvested manually.
Once the Elvio Cogno Nebbiolo Montegrilli grapes are pressed, they ferment with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature and automatic pumping over. The wine matures in stainless steel tanks for 6 months and another 6 months in the bottle.
In homage to Eugenio, the grandfather of the family, Elvio Cogno Nebbiolo Montegrilli is a wine that shows the varietal expression of the great grape of the Langhe; Nebbiolo. A wine without artifice, soft and elegant.
