Chardonnay Vie di Romans is a Friuli Isonzo DOC produced with grapes from a single vineyard in Mariano del Friuli. The 21-year-old vines are rooted in soils rich in iron oxides, at 31 meters above sea level. Vinified in steel and aged in barrique, this Chardonnay develops an extraordinary aromatic complexity.
Grapes: 100% Chardonnay.
Aging: 8 months in barrique, 9 months in bottle.
Tasting notes: Golden yellow color, the nose expresses aromas of ripe fruit, sweet spices and hints of vanilla. On the palate it is rich and enveloping, with good acidity and a persistent finish.
Pairings: Elaborate fish dishes, shellfish, white meats in sauce and mature cheeses.
