“Castagnino” is the younger, but equally loved and cared for, brother of our symbolic wine (Il Castagno). It is made (like all our wines) only with Syrah grapes grown in our Cortona vineyards, all taken from very low yields per hectare (maximum 50 quintals from 5,000 plants), rigorously selected during the entire year, in particular before and during the harvest (which takes place in the first half of September, usually slightly earlier than that for Il Castagno and Cuculaia), harvested exclusively by hand in small 15 kg perforated boxes.
