PRODUCT INFORMATION

Coche-Dury's Corton-Charlemagne possesses a rare intensity and a generously fruity character. On the nose, hints of walnut and hazelnut are evident, a true signature of Domaine Coche-Dury. The structure is rich for the appellation, but the Corton-Charlemagne is even more refined than the estate's Meursaults. Ideally, it should be aged for 10 to 20 years.

Estate Information: Coche-Dury
The history of Domaine Coche-Dury began in the early 1900s, but it wasn't until the 1960s that the estate truly began to gain recognition, thanks to the initiatives of Georges Coche, son of Jean-François, who decided to start selling the estate's wines directly in bottles. In 1975, Jean-François Coche took over the estate and, upon marrying Odile Dury, gave it its current name. In 2010, he passed the baton to his son Raphaël, who had been at his side since 1997.
The vineyard extends over 10 hectares, of which 7.8 are planted with Chardonnay and Aligoté. Only 2.5 hectares are dedicated to Pinot Noir, which also produces highly sought-after red wines. Most of the vineyards are located in Meursault, but also in Pommard, Auxey-Duresses, Puligny-Montrachet, and the Grand Cru Corton-Charlemagne. The soils are plowed, yields are limited, and no pesticides are used.
In the cellar, Raphaël favors a winemaking process that enhances the natural expression of the terroir without ever altering it: gentle pressing, the use of the traditional double-spout racking system, and regular bâtonnage (stirring) during the year-long aging in barrels (half of which are renewed annually).
The style is inimitable: pure and elegant wines, with aromas of vine blossom and toasted hazelnut, with extraordinary finesse and persistence. Raphaël Coche-Dury's extraordinary talent has earned him an unparalleled reputation.
Unfortunately, his wines are too rare to satisfy all the enthusiasts who would like to taste them. However, all lovers of great Chardonnays should try them at least once in their lifetime.
