PRODUCT INFORMATION
Nipozzano Vecchie Viti 2022
Chianti Rufina Riserva DOCG
This wine, chosen by the Frescobaldi family to continue the tradition of reserving a Private Collection for its new
borns, comes from the oldest vines of Castello Nipozzano, which have a deep root system. Of great
complexity and harmony, it ages for 24 months in oak barrels, as per ancient Tuscan tradition.
Technical Notes
Variety: Sangiovese and traditional complementary varieties
Alcohol Content: 14%
Aging: 24 months in barrels
Vinification and Maturation
The Sangiovese and traditional complementary varieties were immediately
transported to the cellar as soon as they were harvested. Here, once destemmed, the spontaneous fermentation process took place in concrete tanks.
After this, the wine remained in the vats to complete its maceration. Its journey continued in wooden barrels,
where the wine remained to mature for the necessary time. The subsequent period in the bottle allowed for a greater
balance of all the components, allowing the wine to fully appreciate its essence once the bottle is opened.
Tasting Notes
Vecchie Viti 2022 presents a ruby ??red color. On the nose, fruity notes emerge, including red and black berries.
Spicy notes of pepper and cinnamon are discernible so far; it will be interesting to see how it evolves over the coming years. The
richness of the fruit already perceived on the nose is confirmed on the palate, complex and persistent with notes of blackberry and gooseberry.
The well-balanced tannins are soft and integrate perfectly with the wine's elegance. With good flavor and evident body,
Nipozzano Vecchie Viti leaves behind a long finish and a pleasantly fruity aftertaste.
