The vines began to bud at the end of March in the midst of cold days with temperatures sometimes below freezing, which caused cold damage in the valley floors and on the earliest varieties. A regular growth followed, favored by ideal weather characterized by warm, dry, and slightly windy days. As a consequence, excellent fruit set was noted, leading to good bunch structure. The scant rainfall led to signs of water stress due to the dry climate and still very high temperatures. The harvest of the early white varieties began in the second half of August. A good year with a lower production, but still of excellent quality.
OLFACTORY SENSATIONS: Light citrus notes complement pleasant hints of morello cherry. The bouquet is enhanced by nuances of black pepper, cloves, peppermint, and licorice.
TASTING The palate is expressed through a dense and elegant tannic structure, giving the wine breadth and persistence. The acidic backbone ensures longevity and balance.
