The "Il Solatìo" vineyard, a small gem measuring less than one hectare, is located on a steep, rocky slope facing southeast. Situated at an altitude of 550-600 meters, the soil is composed almost entirely of fragments of Alberese rock, known for its high permeability and low fertility, ideal conditions for producing wines of great structure and personality.
The grapes selected from the eponymous vineyard ferment in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with skin contact for 3-4 weeks and constant extraction monitoring. Malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel to preserve the wine's freshness and balance.
The first part of the aging process, lasting approximately 10-12 months, takes place partly in 36-hl Slavonian oak barrels and partly in new and second-use tonneaux. The wines are then blended and aged in Slavonian oak barrels for 6 months before bottling. Bottle aging continues for an additional 18 months.
Solatìo represents the excellence of the Radda in Chianti terroir, with a complexity and elegance that make it unique in the Chianti Classico panorama.
