at least 6 months in bottle Before release
NOTES ON THE VINTAGE: After a mild and dry winter, budbreak began early. However, a return of cold
spring, with some snowfall in April, temporarily slowed the vines' growth, which then recovered with a
vigorous flowering. The hot, rain-free summer led the plants to develop more moderately, without signs of stress.
The temperature swings at the end of August favored an optimal balance between sugars and acidity. At harvest time,
on September 24th and 25th, the grapes surprised with their concentration and finesse. In the cellar, prolonged macerations,
lasting over a month, give the 2020 vintage very promising aging potential. The 2020 vintage benefited
from stable and warm weather conditions, which allowed the Sangiovese grapes to ripen without excessive
concentration, offering early drinkability but also great aging potential.
TASTING NOTES: Intense ruby ??red with garnet highlights, which intensify with aging. A complex and refined bouquet,
with notes of ripe red fruits, cherry, plum, and hints of blackberry. These are combined with spicy and tertiary aromas such as
vanilla, tobacco, leather, and a touch of licorice. The finish is long, with well-defined tannins. Thanks to the
characteristics of its terroir, Brunello di San Polo can withstand long aging and improves with bottle aging.
SERVING TEMPERATURE: Serve in large balloon glasses at 16-18°C and uncork one hour before serving.
