The 2020 vintage was affected by a cold and dry winter which allowed a normal development of the shoots in the first week of April. Subsequently, the spring was rainy with temperatures lower than the seasonal average, especially during the month of May. These conditions led to the creation of important water reserves in the soil and to slow down the vegetative development of the plants. The arrival of the heat and the absence of rain in the month of June favored the vegetative recovery, guaranteeing excellent flowering, which occurred in the second week of the month. The summer season then continued without particular peaks of heat, with some rainfall between the end of July and the beginning of August which guaranteed a vigorous and efficient leaf system. The mild temperatures of September and a good level of hydration of the soil favored a slow and regular ripening of the grapes, which allowed to obtain perfectly ripe tannins, with high intensity and aromatic freshness. The grapes were harvested starting from October 1st, with an ideal climate: mild temperatures during the day and beautiful excursions during the night. The perfect quality of the grapes has allowed us to produce a balanced, structured Luce Brunello, with a powerful and perfectly integrated tannic texture. TASTING NOTES Luce Brunello 2020 shows an intense ruby ??red. The nose is struck by the aromatic intensity of red fruits, such as cherries in alcohol, red plums and oranges which intertwine with notes of tobacco and the sweetness of licorice. On the palate it offers great pleasure, it is enveloping, lively, supported by perfectly ripe tannins that leave room for citrus notes in the aftertaste.
