PRODUCT INFORMATION

CastelGiocondo 2020
Brunello di Montalcino DOCG
"CastelGiocondo is a unique place in Montalcino, where the great variety of exposures and soils - galestro, clay and Pliocene sands - give this Brunello infinite nuances. A versatility of notes that evolve over time and that make you want to continually discover, savor and remember."
Climate trend
The 2020 season began with rather limited rainfall in the winter months, after the restoration of water reserves in the last months of 2019. The water reserves generated in this period made it possible to face the highest temperatures of the summer period from June to August. The vines began their budding in the last days of March. The beginning of flowering was recorded in the second half of May with a regular course then favored by an ideal climate with warm, dry and slightly windy days. The absence of rain even during the harvest period
allowed us to bring perfectly ripe, healthy and structured grapes to the cellar. The phenolic composition and sugar content
were perfect.
Vinification and maturation
Once they arrived at the cellar, the grapes were subjected to a scrupulous selection on the sorting tables. The
fermentations took place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, with frequent pumping over especially
during the initial phases. The wine was then subjected to maturation in wood where it had the opportunity to mature and
"rise", until reaching the final balance and harmony. It was then refined in the bottle.
Tasting notes
Brunello CastelGiocondo 2020 presents a wonderful intense and brilliant ruby ??red color. Even in this very
favorable vintage it is characterized by an unmistakable elegance and an intriguing complexity. The bouquet opens with floral notes
followed by fruity sensations that recall small red and black fruits. Tertiary and spicy hints follow, such as licorice,
nutmeg, green tea leaves and coffee beans. The tannic texture is elegant and dense, the minerality envelops the palate and
impresses with its harmony. Long and persistent on the finish.
