"GENEROSITY"

The theme of Ornellaia 2021, the 16th edition of Vendemmia d'Artista, is "Generosity," a concept that expresses the relationship between the land, with its species and ecosystems, and the energy of the people involved in the creation of Ornellaia 2021.

The artist chosen to interpret "Generosity" is Marinella Senatore.

THE ARTIST

Marinella Senatore is a multidisciplinary Italian artist, trained in music, fine arts, and cinema. Her practice is characterized by a strong collective and participatory dimension, both in methodology and content; her work combines aesthetic research with the transformative power of social engagement. Through the use of traditional and vernacular forms of language—including pop culture, dance, music, and mass events—and activism, Senatore reflects on the political nature of collective formations and rituals and their potential for social change, creating moments of encounter and sharing.

THE THEME AND SPECIAL LABELS

In interpreting the character of Ornellaia 2021, "La Generosità," the artist employed the collage technique, much loved by her and exemplifying her practice, which allows her to organize multiple pieces of information, images, and flows of energy and thought on a single sheet of paper.

The labels were therefore conceived as a series of collages depicting scenes of different types that speak of the earth, its generosity, its uniqueness, and the relationship between the earth and its energy and human beings, where even the stars influence the quality of this energy and, ultimately, the quality of the wine itself.

All these concepts are present in the collages created for the labels of the 750 ml, 3L, 6L formats and in the mercury-free neon sculpture created for the 9L bottle.
