PRODUCT INFORMATION
Climate
Winter began with temperatures slightly above seasonal averages and little rainfall until the end of February. Spring began with temperatures in line with seasonal averages, leading to the first buds of Chardonnay and Merlot. From late March to mid-April, temperatures rose, accelerating bud break in the Cabernet Sauvignon, bringing bud break into line with the earliest varieties. During May, both temperatures and rainfall increased, accelerating vegetative development. June ushered in a period of higher, but still average, temperatures and little rainfall, albeit with significant morning dew. These conditions continued until the first half of September. During this period, vegetation continued to flourish thanks to the water reserves accumulated in the soil during the spring. In the final ripening phase, rising temperatures slowed the physiological functioning of the plants, resulting in appropriate ripening differences between the varieties. Chardonnay ripened slightly earlier than in recent years, necessitating a slightly earlier harvest to preserve its acidity. Merlot required extreme precision in the vineyard, seeking the perfect selling day for each individual vineyard, and in some cases from row to row. Ultimately, yields were lower but of high quality. Syrah, on the other hand, performed more consistently and precisely, with more generous yields. Cabernet, especially Franc, ripened at the conventional harvest time, between the third week of September and the first week of October, with consistent ripening and slightly higher yields than in previous years.
