Climate
The 2022 vintage in Bolgheri was characterized by a lack of rain
from late winter until well into the summer. From
mid-August, the arrival of a series of thunderstorms was providential for the crucial period of grape ripening.
This climatic trend ensured perfect grape health but also favored a reduction in
vegetative development, reduced production in terms of quantity, and
consequently, an early ripening. At the time of harvest, the grapes
showed exceptional aromatic concentration and flavor. The Viognier harvest took place on August 29th, while the Vermentino harvest took place on September 3rd.
Vinification and Aging
The two varieties were vinified separately and
harvested by hand in 10kg crates, selecting
only the finest bunches. Forty percent of the grapes,
after light pressing and cold maceration,
were transferred to stainless steel vats where alcoholic fermentation took place and
subsequent aging on the lees for over four months; the remaining 60% were transferred to French oak
tonneaux where alcoholic fermentation took place and aging on the lees for over four months. The various lots were carefully tasted and evaluated and then
blended. Bottling took place in mid-March 2023.

Historical data
Tenuta Guado al Tasso is located in the small and prestigious Bolgheri DOC, on the coast of Alta
Maremma, about one hundred kilometers southwest of Florence. This appellation has a

relatively short history (established in 1994) but boasts international fame as a new
point of reference in the global wine scene. Tenuta Guado al Tasso extends
over 1,000 hectares—320 planted with vineyards, the remainder cultivated with wheat, sunflowers, and olive trees—in
a splendid plain surrounded by hills known as the "Bolgheri amphitheater" due to its
unique shape. The Tenuta Guado al Tasso vineyards are primarily composed
of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Vermentino grapes,
the latter grown as both white and red grapes. The vineyards enjoy a mild climate thanks
to the nearby sea: constant breezes mitigate the summer heat and the harsh winters,
clear the sky, and maintain a high level of sunshine.
The name Camillo pays homage to the vineyard of the same name, the birthplace of the first vintage of
Tenuta Guado al Tasso's Vermentino. Born from the desire to produce a white wine capable
of expressing itself today and in the years to come, Camillo represents the Bolgheri terroir through
selected Vermentino and Viognier grapes.
Tasting Notes
Camillo has a bright straw yellow color. On the nose, it is intense and rich, with aromas that
recall apricot pulp, mandarin, chamomile flowers, and light notes of vanilla. On the
palate, it is savory, balanced, and has excellent persistence.
