AGE OF THE VINEYARDS
Varies. The central and largest part, planted before the purchase of the vineyard by the Oddero family,
probably dates back to 1972. The highest part, with about 240 plants, was planted in 1983,
and the lowest, with about 300 plants, in 2007.
Our family began producing Barolo Vignarionda in 1985, initially producing only a few bottles
and continuing in the following years with few exceptions. In fact, it was not produced in 1992, 1994, 2002 and in 2003 only 1,200 bottles were produced. Since 2010, the average annual production has been between 2,700 and 3,000 bottles.

HARVEST PERIOD
Second week of October

HARVEST
The grapes are hand-picked in 18 kg crates and the bunches are selected manually. The crates
are transported to the cellar and the grapes are selected via a conveyor belt before being put into the
destemmer.

YIELD 50 q/ha

FERMENTATION AND MACERATION
The grapes are transferred to 50 hl fermentation tanks, where they undergo alcoholic fermentation
with daily racking and punching down for approximately 25-28 days.

AGEING TIME
Raking and malolactic fermentation, then racking and ageing in Austrian oak for a period of
about 40 months. After bottling, the bottles are stored in racks in our storage cellar at a controlled temperature of about 15 °C and 70% humidity.

TASTING NOTES
Intense, deep and clear garnet-ruby red color. Complex bouquet of dark fruit, blackberries, citrus and rose, balsamic notes of tobacco, licorice and cinchona, with nuances of undergrowth and damp limestone. In the mouth, the wine shows firm tannins, freshness, persistence and longevity.
