VILLA DELLA TORRE: Villa Della Torre, a splendid monument of the Italian Renaissance, is now a World Heritage Site The Mastella Allegrini family
and is the headquarters of the Marilisa Allegrini Group. The design by Giulio Romano and Michele Sanmicheli
was inspired by the Domus of Ancient Rome with all its pomp and splendor. Hence the Peristyle, the true heart
of the house, along with the sixteenth-century motifs of Water, symbolized by the Fish Pond, and Fire, immortalized in the Mascaron Fireplaces
by the great decorator Giovan Battista Scultori. The octagonal Tempietto described by Vasari and the Bucintoro
dedicated to Jupiter Ammon complete the extraordinary scenic effect of the entire monumental complex and confirm
its historical and artistic importance. Today it houses a Wine & Art Relais and is home to the Villa Della Torre winery.
THE VILLA'S GARDEN: Villa Della Torre is surrounded by what Marilisa Allegrini likes to call a "vine garden."
The Brolo of Villa Della Torre, with its ancient walls marking its boundaries, protects a ten-hectare vineyard where
Corvinone is the predominant variety. The two wines produced here—Valpolicella Classico Superiore and Amarone della
Valpolicella Classico—represent a conscious evolution of classic styles. They emphasize freshness, express precision,
and highlight the unique characteristics of this vineyard.
TASTING NOTES: The Amarone of Villa Della Torre is distinguished by its particular intensity and aromatic richness.
The aging in wood, respectful of the fruit's fragrance, imparts a well-balanced tannic note,
which enriches the wine with further complexity. It has a deep ruby ??red color, while the bouquet
expresses hints of cherry and wild marasca cherry with a pleasant, light note of vanilla and spice. On the palate, it has
a good, well-integrated tannic structure and a persistent finish. Ethereal and balanced, its freshness
distinguishes it from traditional Amarone standards. It will acquire further complexity with bottle aging.
CURIOSITY: The design on the label depicts the Lion's Chimney, one of the four spectacular masked chimneys found
in Villa Della Torre and attributed to Giovan Battista Scultori, who worked at Palazzo Te and was remembered by Giorgio Vasari as
one of Giulio Romano's best students. The Lion's Chimney is the most extraordinary and imposing, depicted with its mouth open
in the act of roaring, a symbol, in biblical symbolism, of the swallowing devil.
SERVING TEMPERATURE: Best served at 18°C ??in large red wine glasses.
