JAPAN OAK CASK 18Y.O. 100th ANNIVERSARY

PRODUCT INFORMATION

In celebration of the distinguished distillery's 100th anniversary, this limited-edition expression comes in a super-rare centennial bottle, which is limited to one purchase per customer.

Produced at Suntory’s historic Yamazaki distillery, this is a flagship Japanese Single Malt Whisky renowned for its multi-layered flavour profile and unique aroma.

Yamazaki 18 Year Old is Suntory’s most awarded – and perhaps Japan’s most famous – Single Malt Whisky, earning a Gold Medal at the International Spirits Challenge, a Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and multiple Golds at the World Whiskies Awards. Aged in casks from three different kinds of oak (American, Spanish and Japanese) this is an intense and complex whisky of incredible depth. Raisin, apricot, pine wood, violin bow resin, marmalade, dried flowers and old Oloroso Sherry feature on the nose, whilst the palate is medium bodied with an incredible balance and a layered delivery of liquorice, honey, stewed prunes, peppery spice, Cuban cigar, praline and red fruit. Long and dry on the finish, this rare release is an impeccable example of Japanese whisky and was already something of a collector’s item, so you can imagine the excitement that this anniversary edition will cause.

Yamazaki is the oldest distiller in Japan, the brand is now famed throughout the world and it’s the Japanese people’s favourite Single Malt. This is where it all began for Japanese whisky. Established by Shinjiro Torii in 1924 just outside Kyoto, the distillery uses the same waters that are used in for the finest tea ceremonies in the region.
