PRODUCT INFORMATION
Crognolo
The first wine produced in 1998, it takes its name from a wild plant that thrives on the estate, cornus. It is a wine that strongly embodies the vision of its creator, combining territorial appreciation with innovation, born from an evolving tradition. The base is a historic Sangiovese variety sourced from clones of the estate's oldest vineyard, Vigna dell'Impero, commissioned in 1935 by Amedeo di Savoia, Duke of Aosta. From this historic variety, grafted onto vineyards located in stony, marl-rich soil, the finest Sangiovese is selected, making up over 90% of Crognolo. A small amount of Merlot is added, lending the wine smoothness, directness, and color. Download the Technical Sheet.
