PRODUCT INFORMATION

ima:
The 2013 vintage was characterized by frequent
precipitation during the winter months and temperatures below
the average during the spring months, causing a delay
in budding about 10-15 days compared to
average for the period. The summer saw the rise of
temperatures, especially in the second half of July,
allowing plants to accelerate the processes of
ripening of the grapes, finished regularly
September, thanks also to the excellent temperature variations
between day and night. Harvest operations, in
have had a general delay compared to recent years
beginning in the second half of September with Sangiovese,
while Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested in the first
week of October.

Winemaking:
The grapes, after being destemmed and softly pressed, were introduced into tanks
stainless steel where alcoholic fermentation took place at a controlled temperature
above 30°C. The maceration lasted about 20 days, during which they were carried out
mechanical interventions aimed at the controlled extraction of aromas, structure and sweet tannins. At the end
of malolactic fermentation, carried out in stainless steel tanks for Sangiovese and in barriques
of second and third passage for Cabernet Sauvignon, the various batches have been assembled and have
continued their refinement in wood mainly in large barrels and partly in barriques, fine
to spring 2015. Bottling took place in June 2015.
Historical data:
Starting from the 2010 vintage, Villa Antinori has found a new youth and with the opening of the
new winery in Chianti Classico, his home. The Antinori family wanted to pay homage to
a historic label and a wine with a long tradition. The first vintage was 1928 and up to 2000 ha
represented the idea of Chianti Classico Riserva over time.
Tasting notes:
Ruby red in color with slight garnet reflections, the Villa Chianti Classico Riserva 2013 presents excellent
notes of berries, which combine well with the spicy ones of cinnamon and toasted coffee, with slight
hints of tobacco. On the palate it is harmonious, enveloping, with silky tannins; long and persistent in
aftertaste, where the fruity and woody notes perceived on the nose return.
