PRODUCT INFORMATION
From the sunniest part of the Tignanello hill. From the best grapes of the best vineyard. The rest is passion, care, attention and research. This is how Solaia is born, produced with the most selected Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese grapes from the vineyard of the same name.
Tenuta Tignanello is located in the heart of Chianti Classico, on the soft hills enclosed between the Greve and Pesa valleys and extends over 319 hectares of land, with approximately 165 hectares of vineyards. Among its vineyards, two treasures: the Tignanello vineyard and the Solaia vineyard that extend on the same hill, on soils deriving from Pliocene marine marl with limestone and schist, and enjoy warm days and cool nights during the growing season.
From the vineyards of the same name, Solaia and Tignanello are produced, which have been defined by the international press as "among the most influential wines in the history of Italian winemaking". According to the Marchesi Antinori, they represent a continuous challenge and a never-ending passion.
The vineyards of Tenuta Tignanello are mainly composed of the native Sangiovese and non-traditional varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
Soil
Of Pliocene origin, rich in marine fossils with some clay infiltrations. Rich in alberese and galestro.
