VINEYARDS
GRAPE VARIETIES
The Merlot is produced by Avignonesi, on the Lodola estate in Valiano di Montepulciano,
in southern Tuscany.
The Sangiovese is produced by Capanelle, a winery located in Gaiole in Chianti, in the
heart of Chianti Classico.
50&50 is a wine born of friendship. The friendship that binds the owners of Avignonesi in Montepulciano and Capannelle in Chianti
Classico, and their shared desire to strive for excellence with their wines.
It was first produced in 1988, almost by accident: during a convivial dinner, the owners of the two wineries jokingly began
comparing their wines and blending them, until they arrived at the 50% Sangiovese and 50% Merlot blend
we know today. They had created something truly unique.
