From the friendship that binds the owners of Avignonesi in Montepulciano and Capannelle in Chianti comes our refined 50&50 wine. The first vintage of 50&50 was released in 1988: during a convivial dinner, the then owners of the two wineries began comparing their wines and created this exceptional blend of 50% Sangiovese from Capannelle and 50% Merlot from Avignonesi.
A legend in a bottle
Ruby red in color, the 2008 50&50 has great depth on the nose, with attractive aromas of black cherry, raspberry, and tea leaves, complemented by a core of vanilla, toasted almonds, tobacco, and leather. On the palate, it is warm and elegant, with pronounced tannins and great structure, supported by a well-balanced acidity. Rewarding, with a long and caressing finish.
