Il Palazzi is next to Tenuta di Trinoro, the other flagship wine of the estate. Andrea Franchetti began producing it with an eye on the great Bordeaux Merlots. At the beginning, in the years 1997-1999, it was assembled with Cabernet Franc, but despite the good reception from the critics of the sector, Andrea Franchetti was not satisfied and stopped producing it for ten years. In 2009, the exceptional quality of the Merlot harvested convinced him to put it back into production and this time using only pure Merlot.

Today Il Palazzi offers the maximum expression of a great Merlot, with intense and fleshy fruit, balanced by the right freshness and minerality. The aging in barrique gives it richness and complexity and makes it ready and enjoyable immediately.
