PRODUCT INFORMATION

Moscato di Scanzo is a passito wine made exclusively from grapes grown from the native grape of the same name, grown, according to regulations, exclusively in the hilly area of ??the municipality of Scanzorosciate.

The production process is long and laborious: after harvest, the grapes are dried for a period of no less than 21 days to reach the appropriate sugar content; after drying, the wine must age for a minimum of two years in steel barrels.

Local historians trace the cultivation of the vine to pre-Roman times, while others believe it was the Romans who introduced it to the suitable hilly areas.
Other historical documents confirm the particular popularity of this passito wine in the 17th and 18th centuries. Moscato di Scanzo is a typical meditation wine, deep ruby ??red in color, extremely fragrant with a predominance of berries and morello cherries, which with aging tends to take on a predominantly fruit compote flavor. The aftertaste features flavors of incense and flint.
