This wine was originally known as "Brunello Etichetta Bianca" and was renamed Rosso di Montalcino in 1983 when the DOC was established.
True to the style that characterizes all Biondi-Santi wines, the Rosso is distinguished by its fragrant and fruity character, making it perfect for enjoying even at a young age.

THE 2023 VINTAGE
2023 was marked by a dynamic climate, with significant temperature variations and unevenly distributed rainfall. A warm autumn and a mild winter, with some snowfall in January, preceded a cool and rainy spring. April saw a significant drop in temperature, followed by rain that lasted until mid-June. Summer began with a sharp rise in temperatures and humidity, partially mitigated by rainfall in early August, before a further rise in temperatures. At the end of August, a new rain front and a good temperature range created ideal conditions for grape ripening. The harvest, which began on September 13th, allowed us to harvest high-quality grapes despite the numerous difficulties caused by downy mildew in the vineyards. A challenging year, requiring extremely careful selection, guided by a constant pursuit of the highest quality.

The 2023 Rosso di Montalcino was produced through a careful selection of grapes from our estate vineyards.
AGING
The 2023 Rosso di Montalcino was aged for 12 months in large Slavonian oak barrels.
