Feudi San Gregorio's Lacryma Christi Rosso is produced in Campania, in the municipality of Sorbo Serpico near Avellino. The winery's production philosophy is based on the idea that producing wine is like creating a work of art: the same emotions and creative process employed for a work of art are also found in the winemaking process. Every detail is expertly crafted: the labels are the work of designer Massimo Vignelli, who has captured the winery's soul and the traditions of these lands through colors, designs, and mosaics.

The Piedirosso and Aglianico grapes for Feudi San Gregorio's Lacryma Christi Rosso are grown on the slopes of one of Europe's largest volcanoes; the wine's name comes from the legend that it was the tears shed by Jesus that gave rise to the vines in this place. The soil is naturally composed of volcanic rock, but also contains minerals and potassium, making it highly fertile and productive. The climate is temperate, with mild winters thanks to air currents from the sea and hot, dry summers. Once the harvest is complete, fermentation and maceration take place in steel tanks for approximately three weeks. Before bottling, it ages for four to five months in steel tanks.
