CRANO
CORTONA DOC SYRAH

CRANO, named after the legendary King of Cortona, son of Noah, is the king of our production. It is a red wine of great complexity, with an extraordinarily balanced tannic structure that makes it both strong and delicate. It offers its best with a wide range of delicious dishes, even particularly savory ones, and is particularly suited (and not just for parochial reasons) to Chianina steak.

Production Area: Pietraia (approx. 290 meters above sea level)
Harvest Period: Late September – Early October
Vinification: Traditional and délestage, maceration on the skins for 15–20 days
Cellar Aging: 12 months in 225-liter barriques
Bottling: December of the year following harvest
Bottle Aging: at least 9 months
Color: Deep, dark red with purple highlights
Nose: Increasing complexity, with ripe fruit and black pepper emerging
Taste: Full-bodied, refined in its smoothness, and very persistent
Alcohol Content: 13 to 14% vol
