The medieval village of Castello di Albola, on the splendid hills of Radda in Chianti, has been a
prominent figure in the Chianti Classico region for centuries; since the 16th century, it has been the home of noble Florentine families, first the
Acciaiuoli, then the Pazzi, and the Ginori-Conti. This area has a strong connection with wine, so much so that
in 1841, the geographer and naturalist Emanuele Repetti wrote in the Physical Geographic Dictionary of the
Grand Duchy of Tuscany: "Albola is properly called a hill renowned for its vineyards, from which
perhaps the best wines of Chianti are produced."
Even today, the diverse soil composition, favorable exposure, and high altitude create the
conditions for wine production aimed at excellence, in full harmony with the historic buildings,
landscapes, art, and culture of this wonderful corner of Chianti Classico.
